Elsa S. Butler

She was born in Louisville, Ky., on Dec. 1, 1921, the daughter of the late Frederick Seitz and Elsa Surnamn Seitz. She was the widow of Everette Erwin Butler Jr., who died in 1992.
She was a graduate of Anchorage High School in Kentucky and she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Miss. She was a long-time resident of Florida and for many years she and Everette had summer homes in Hendersonville and Tryon. She was an avid golfer and tennis player, and she loved to garden and travel.
She is survived by a daughter, Elsa Carolyn Jones of Tryon; sons Everette Erwin Butler of Florida, William Frederick Butler of Inman, S.C., and David Winfield Butler and his wife, Lindsey, of Flat Rock; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Flat Rock Youth Theatre, P.O. Box 310, Flat Rock, N.C. 28731.
