AP art student opening exhibit at Landrum Library

Morgan Williams, a senior AP Studio Visual Arts student from Landrum High School will have her artwork on display at the Landrum Public Library from April 22-26.
Williams&squo; concentration, &dquo;In Between Now and Then,&dquo; explores growth and personal development from a feminine perspective through the lens of design.
She uses one of the oldest forms of visual communication, symbols, to represent ideas, feelings, and attitudes concerning inner beauty and creative insight. &bsp;
Cathey Stoney, art teacher at Landrum High states, &dquo;Art is a visual language. Artists throughout the ages have incorporated symbols and symbolism in their work. Symbols can have deep meaning and often provoke powerful emotions. Morgan&squo;s artwork represents a considerable amount of time and effort. Through the AP Studio process, she has found a strong artistic voice with a meaningful statement.&dquo; &bsp;
AP Studio Art is offered at Landrum High School for those highly creative students who want to earn a college credit from The College Board. The Opening Reception for Morgan will be April 23 from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
