Born in Apalachicola, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Nancy Tarantino Brocato. Mrs. Crane was a registered nurse prior to her marriage in 1953.

She is survived by her husband, William Joseph Crane of the home; one son, Harry Byron Cashwell of Pinehurst, N.C.; one sister, Betty Garrett of Port Richey, Fla.; two grandchildren; Casey Cashwell of Tryon and Chris Cashwell of Greer, S.C.; two great grandchildren, Austin Cashwell of Greer, S.C., and Kinleigh Cashwell of Tryon.

Graveside service were held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in Polk Memorial Gardens, with Father Patrick Winslow officiating.
