After four innings of scoreless baseball, Landrum started the offense in the fifth, poured it on in the sixth, and threw in some insurance in the seventh.
SSC put up two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but Adam Pitts and Alex Wilson each drove in two runs with clutch singles in the next half-inning. By the bottom of the seventh, the Cardinals were up three, at 8-5, which is how the game would end.
Pitts also had two stolen bases on the night. Outfielder Tyler Burrell was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Catcher Dustin Morris scored two runs and stole two bases.
Starting pitcher Justin Henson picked up his first win of the season, and Alex Wilson converted his first save this year.
Landrum takes on Whitmire tonight at home. Gametime is 6:30 p.m.
