Meyer Glinter

Mr. Glinter was born in Detroit, Mich., and was first married to Juanita Glinter, who died in 1998. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army Air Corp. Mr. Glinter was a faithful member of Columbus Baptist Church and was actively involved and sang in the church choir, was a past deacon and past Sunday school teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Lankford Glinter of the home, two sons, Michael Glinter of Fort Mill, S.C., and Richard Glinter of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one daughter, Patsy Thurmond of Holly, Mich.; one step-son, Mike Smith of Columbus and one step-daughter, Debbie Whisenhunt of Florence, S.C. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in Columbus Baptist Church, Columbus, with Dr. Jesse T. Yarbrough. officiating.
