Columbus Town Council last week approved spending up to $2,500 for a Columbus Farmer&squo;s Fair to be held downtown in the fall. Polk County Agricultural Economic Developer Lynn Sprague requested the festival and said he would do the work by working with the town manager. The farmer&squo;s fair would be agriculturally motivated with the farmer&squo;s market present and anticipation of music and farm animals. The fair would likely replace the town&squo;s Columbus Day Celebration, which has occurred the last couple of years in October.
