She was born Oct. 4, 1932 in San Diego, Calif.

She is survived by Patty Aldred of Tryon, Billie and William Begg of Brevard, N.C., Mary Diskin of Godfrey, Ill., Elizabeth Aldred of Denver, Colo., and Travis Aldred of Tryon.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in Tryon.
