Tryon Fire Chief Joey Davis attended Tuesday&squo;s meeting.
&dquo;Honestly, you did a phenomenal job with that truck,&dquo; Davis told council members. &dquo;We will definitely benefit across the state line.&dquo;
Landrum Fire Chief Jimmy Flynn also read a letter from Columbus Fire Chief Geoff Tennant thanking Landrum for the assistance with the truck.
City administrator Steve Wolochowicz commented during the meeting on the deal the city received on the truck because the company selected filed bankruptcy during the construction process. Landrum decided to stay with the company instead of rebidding the truck and although it took more time, the city received a fully equipped service truck for much less than it would have cost otherwise, Wolochowicz said.
The truck is fully ISO accredited and includes such features as an AED, air masks, a chainsaw, jaws of life, an 800MgHz truck radio, rope and water rescue equipment, ventilation saw and leaf blower, rescue struts, VHF and handheld radios as well as many other tools and rescue equipment.
