Born in Chester, S.C., he was the husband of Lucile McDowell Terry and the son of the late Walter C. Terry and Janie Asilee (Roof) Dudek and stepson of the late Chester E. Dudek.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Calvin Smith&bsp; of New Prospect, S.C.; one daughter, Loretta Johnson of New Prospect; one sister, Mary Williams of Boiling Springs, S.C.; one granddaughter and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Meleese McAbee, and one brother, Charles Terry, predeceased him.

He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, retired from Flowers Bakery and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Funeral services were held at New Prospect Baptist Church on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, with Dr. Ron Gaddy officiating. Burial followed in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
