High winds knock down trees, power lines

High winds have knocked down trees and power lines across the county on Wednesday, causing some roads to be blocked. A tree and power line fell across Green River Cove Road near the intersection with Silver Creek Road on Wednesday morning, blocking access to Green River Cove Road from the east. A tree and power line fell early Wednesday afternoon on Poors Ford Road, near East Green Creek Drive, and sparked a small bush fire in the area. A large pine tree fell across Pea Ridge Road, near the intersection with US 74, blocking traffic around 2:30 p.m. A tree also fell on a house in Tryon, at the corner of Palmer and Maple streets, causing damage to the roof of a garage.&bsp;
