Muriel Jackson

She was born on Oct. 13, 1920 in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Benjamin Franklin Dill and Maude Davis Dill, but lived most of her lifetime in the Hendersonville area. She was married to the late Charles Hugh Jackson and had 12 children.
Mrs. Jackson was a longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #299 of Hendersonville.
During World War II, she worked at the Naval Shipyard in Charleston. After the war, she helped her husband start Jackson Welding Company, which she continued to manage after his death, retiring at age 75.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her two brothers, Winfred Dill and Marvin Dill, and two children, Diana Jackson and Ronald Jackson.
Surviving are daughters, Beverly Jackson Wilder, Carole Jackson Painter, Joyce Jackson Belcher and husband, Rev. Ralph Belcher, and Novella Jackson Garrison and husband David; sons, Roger Jackson and wife Jody, Neal Jackson, Doyle Jackson and wife Linda, Baron Jackson and wife Phyllis, David Jackson and wife Cheryl, and Kevin Jackson and wife Bobbi; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center and Hospice for their loving care of our mother.
A visitation will be held at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service on Friday,
Dec. 12, 2008, from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harold McKinnish and Rev. Ralph Belcher officiating.
Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park.
