Mr. Ransom retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford Company in 1982 in Toledo, Ohio. He moved to Polk County in 1983 coming from Toledo. Mr. Ransom enjoyed bowling, football, reading sport magazines and writing letters to family and friends. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Princess J. Stokes Ransom; one sister, Helen Tremaine of Michigan.&bsp; Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
