Born in&bsp; Polk County, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah McAbee Melton. She was the widow of Edward M. &dquo;Shorty&dquo; Storie, who died July 6, 2006. Mrs. Storie was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is one brother, Jack Melton of Hendersonville.

Graveside service were held Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 in the Mill Spring First Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. John Parker officiating.
