Mr. Brush was born in County Louth, Ireland on December 1, 1918. An aeronautical engineer, he worked for the Lockheed Corporation for many years. With his first wife Cicely Jameson Brush, known as Meg, he also had an art gallery in Dublin which pioneered in the emergence of Irish art.
Mr. Brush and his wife lived and traveled in many places and in the 1950s settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where they were very active in theater. After the death of his first wife, he married Jane Albrecht, a writer and editor active in Atlanta theater. The couple retired to Tryon where they participated in local theater productions and in the local oral play reading group. Jane predeceased him nearly three years ago.
Mr. Brush had an Irish sense of humor and was a fascinating conversationalist with a remarkable memory for the people and times and places he had known.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 6 at the Tryon Little Theater Workshop, Hwy. 176 S., Tryon.
