Polk County High Homecoming 2008

Vying for the titles of Maid of Honor and Homecoming Queen 2008 are seniors Cassidy Culbreth, Alyssa Fincher, Krystle Fortenberry, Billie Lewis, Lauren Whitmire, and Elizabeth Willis. These titles will be voted on by the entire Polk County student body.
Culbreth is the daughter of&bsp; Dean and Rita Culbreth of Tryon and will be escorted by her father. She is vice-president of the Interact Club and program chairman of the Spanish Club. She plans to continue her education at a four-year college.
Fincher is the daughter of Trey and Missy Fincher of Tryon and will be escorted by her father. She is the captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and was chosen this summer as an all-star cheerleader. Alyssa plans to attend college to major in dance and obtain a cosmetology license.
Fortenberry is the daughter of&bsp; James Fortenberry of Campobello and Benjamin and Angela Tipton of Sunny View and will be escorted by her father. She is the vice-president of the Key Club, treasurer of the Interact Club and captain of the varsity cheerleaders. She plans to attend a four year college and major in pediatric nursing.
Lewis is the daughter of Butch Lewis of Hendersonville and Jerry and Robin Nelon of Rutherfordton and will be escorted by Nelon. She is a member of the varsity softball team and FCA.&bsp; Billie plans to attend Lees McCrae in Banner Elk, N.C. to major in wildlife rehabilitation.
Whitmire is the daughter of Glenn and Sheila Whitmire of Sunny View and will be escorted by her father. She is the secretary of the Spanish Club and secretary of the Interact Club. Lauren plans to attend a four year college and major in business and minor in Spanish.
Willis is the daughter of Jerry and Cindy Willis of Green Creek and will be escorted by her father. She is president of Green Team and the Key Club. She plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill and major in International Relations.
Representing the freshman class are Emily Antonio, Morgan Bishop, and Ciera Wilson. Antonio is the daughter of Steve and Janine Antonio of Columbus and will be escorted by David Abril, son of Chris and Colleen Abril also of Columbus. Bishop is the daughter of Barney Bishop and Melissa Fenten of Mill Spring and will be escorted by Zach High, son of Gordie and Angie High of Columbus. Wilson is the daughter of Jeffrey and Dottie Wilson of Columbus and will be escorted by Madison Alexander, son of Kenneth and Mimi Alexander of Tryon.
Representing the sophomore class are Haley Champion, Savanna Mitchell, Brittany Phipps, and Kailey Russell. Champion is the daughter of Michael and Lori Champion of Tryon and will be escorted by Schyler Horne, son of Mark and Leslie Horne of Green Creek. Mitchell is the daughter of Randy and Angel Mitchell of Tryon and will be escorted by Davis Horne, son of Mark and Leslie Horne of Green Creek. Phipps is the daughter of David and Genie Phipps of Sunny View and will be escorted by Heath Culbreth, son of Craig and Kim Culbreth of Tryon. Russell is the daughter of Keith and Tami Russell of Green Creek and will be escorted by Patrick Kelly, son of Ricky and Jill Kelly of Sunny View.
Representing the junior class are Jessica Antonio, Sydney Collins, Angelina Lilly, Sammy Mazzilli, and Katie Wilson.&bsp; Antonio is the daughter of Steve and Janine Antonio of Columbus and will be escorted by Zachary Stone, son of Mike Stone and Trinka King of Columbus. Collins is the daughter of Bruce and Jayne Collins of Green Creek and will be escorted by Randy Matson, son of Bill and Brenda Matson of Columbus. Lilly is the daughter of Suelin Ammons and Dr. Robert Lilly of Columbus and will be escorted by Jeffery Bontrager, son of Henry and Berna Bontrager of Tryon. Mazzilli is the daughter of Mark and Sue Mazzilli of Mill Spring and will be escorted by Cole Weicker, son of Carl and Tawana Weicker of Columbus. Wilson is the daughter of Terry and Regina Wilson of Tryon and will be escorted by Blake Flood, son of Tricia Flood of Columbus.
The underclassmen are vying for the title of Miss Wolverine 2008. Miss Wolverine is voted on by the Polk County Wolverine football players. Last year, Miss Wolverine was Brittany Phipps.
Crowning the new queens will be last year&squo;s Maid of Honor, Courtney Johnston and last year&squo;s Homecoming Queen, Yvonne Ballard.
