Born in Hillside, Ill., she was the daughter of Lois Klimek Linder of Hendersonville and the late Lawrence J. Linder. She has been a resident of Hendersonville since 1997, coming from Bradenton, Fla. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her two special companions, Sassy and Little Bit, and also knitting and sewing.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, is her husband of 20 years, Jerry R. Jones of the home; two sons, Robert D. George of Hendersonville and G. Jonathan George and fianc´e, Nikki, of Sarasota, Fla.; one daughter, Kimberly D. Metcalf and husband, Brian, of Saluda; four grandchildren, Joshua R. George of Hendersonville, Brandon R. and Grayson A. M. Metcalf, both of Saluda, Nadia George of Orlando, Fla., and one on the way; one brother, John Linder, of Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Jane Murphy of Burlingame, Calif.; one stepson, Jerry Ray Jones II of Orlando, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Cherlyn Jones of Washington, D.C.; and two stepgrandsons, Jesse and Logan Berrey of Orlando, Fla.

A celebration of Laurie&squo;s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Gregg Gibbons officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral chapel.
