James Click

He was born Sept. 25, 1933 to the late George E. Click and Lavina Lewis Click in Springfield, Ohio. Jim graduated from Springfield High School in 1953, Denison University, Granville, Ohio with a B.A. and Miami University in Miami, Fla. with a M.Ed.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959 at ROTC Quantico Marine Base, Quantico, Va. He taught physical education and coached football, basketball and tennis in Bexley, Ohio, for 30 years and Polk County for ten years. The Bexley Tennis Team under his tenure was state champion four years running, 1974-1978, with a&bsp; record of 130 wins and no losses.

Jim is survived by his wife, Merlean Waldrop Click; son, David (Kristy) Click of Batavia, Ohio; daughters. Linda Click of Belgrade, Maine and Karen Click of Dallas, Texas; stepsons; Tod (Rhonda) Waldrop of Charlotte, N.C.; Tim (JoAnn) Waldrop of Campobello and Terry Waldrop of Landrum; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Alex Click of Batavia, Ohio and step-grandchildren; TJ, Hunter, Morgan and Hayden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Douglas Lee Click and former wife Lynn Droba Click.
