Local book ‘Tryon – An Illustrated History’ re-released

Seven years after its first release, a history of Tryon has recently been reprinted. The book has a new cover and a new title ‐ &dquo;Tryon ‐ An Illustrated History&dquo;.&bsp; The text remains the same.
The history is written by Anna Pack Conner and illustrated by Ronnie Mosseller. They are both natives of Polk County, and their families settled here more than eight generations ago.
In October 2007, the book received the Willie Parker Peace History Book Award from the North Carolina Society of Historians, Inc.
A few comments from the judges were: &dquo;This is an exquisite book that is full of the most interesting information&ellip; It is compact, skillfully written, and reader-friendly. It contains some remarkable pen and ink sketches that add to the text&ellip; We had no problem choosing this entry by unanimous decision.&dquo; &bsp;
