Troopers say Dodson came around a curve too fast, lost control and hit a tree. Dodson was last scene around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when he left a friend&squo;s house and wrecked on his way home. Dodson resided at Piney Mountain in Saluda and wrecked about 7.5 miles from Saluda on Holbert&squo;s Cove Road within a couple of miles of his home, Trooper Cochran said. Cochran said Dodson&squo;s mother got concerned when he didn&squo;t return home Tuesday night and looked for him all night. Then the senior didn&squo;t show up for school Wednesday morning. Cochran said a passerby found Dodson&squo;s car around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Troopers say he died on impact. Dodson recently moved to Saluda from Campobello. This was his first year at Polk County High School after only attending a few months. Polk County High School has had extra staff on hand for counseling. Principal Aaron Greene Tuesday night made a call out to all high school students with the announcement and that counseling would be available. Dodson is the third young person killed in a vehicle related accident from this area in the last month. 16-year old Cole Quinn, of Campobello died as a passenger in a vehicle on Sept. 17 and Seth Alvarado, 21, died after climbing on top of the vehicle he was riding in and fell off in the Sunny View area on Sept. 13. Quinn&squo;s step-brother was also critically injured in the same wreck.
