Elizabeth Overton

Born in Knoxville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John and Irene Douglas Ingle. She moved to Polk County in 2005 from Palatine, Ill. She volunteered with the Cub Scouts, FISH, and she did extensive work with the National Alliance for Mentally Ill. A retired Real Estate Agent for sixteen years; she was an avid Bridge player. &bsp;

Surviving are three sons, David A. Overton, Jr. of Ayers, Mass.; Mark D. Overton of Columbus, and Jeff Overton of Charlotte, N.C.; and one sister, Margaret Hill of Andersonville, Tenn.; also eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Ann E. Overton, who died in 2007.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, with Father Patrick Winslow officiating.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday night in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.
