She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters Mary Rice and Margaret Rice, both of Greer; sisters Viola Thornton, Sybil Rice, Cora Griffin, Margaret Smith, all of Greer, Hazel Thornton of Spartanburg and Dolly Thornton of Duncan, S.C.; and brother Jerry Thornton of Campobello.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at

2 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
