Sept. 12, 2008. She was born in Malden, W. Va., but lived the last 16 years in Tryon. She formerly worked for 20 years as a research assistant for DuPont in Belle, W. Va.

She enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening, cooking and being with her friends.

Surviving are her husband, Roy Clayton, daughters, Lisa and Michelle, grandson Corey, sisters Pat Hicks and Sharon Fleming and brother Larry Conley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Chapel in Belle, W.Va. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park.
