Billy Carson

He was born Dec. 24, 1941 in Polk County to the late Haige Carson and Virginia Hines Carson. He was employed by White Oak Manor in Tryon for 17 years and attended New Zion C.M.E. Church in Mill Spring.
Survivors are: two daughter and one son, Renee Logan, Union, N.J.; Pat Thomas, Inman; and Michael Whiteside, Landrum. One son, Billy Chester, preceded him in death. Four brothers: Charles Carson, Rutherfordton, Charlie Miller, Tryon; Horace Carson, Columbus; John Carson, Tryon; three sisters, Odessa Booker, Inman; Wilhemenia Peterson, New York, N.Y., and Ann Bush, Forest City; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the St. Luke C.M.E. Church, Markham Road, Tryon, with Rev. Barbara Phillips and Rev. Eleanor D. Miller officiating. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Tryon.
Cannon and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
