Cards cant run past Eagles

The game was moved up for fear of bad weather from Hurricane Hanna.
And on a cool Thursday night, Cedric Proctor and Chesnee beat Landrum on both sides of the ball for a 40-0 victory.
Mistakes were the story for the Cardinals.
A stalemate dominated the game until Landrums first mistake. With 3:42 left in the first quarter, the Eagles blocked a Landrum punt and took over on the Cardinals 30-yard line.
Three plays later Proctor ran for 19 yards and then threw Chesnees first touchdown of the game.
Chesnees next touchdown came on the first play of the second quarter. The Eagles ran a punt back 62 yards for their second touchdown of the game.
Chesnee added scores with 6:35 left to go and again with 3:28 to go.
Other than being down 28-0 at halftime, the Cardinals got some more bad news.
Playmaker Riley Parsons was injured in the first half and was unable to return in the second half with a should injury. Parsons is the Cardinals go-to wide receiver, their best player in the secondary, their punt and kickoff returner and was the long snapper.
The latter proved to be the most crucial loss.
The Cardinals forced the Eagles to punt in Chesnees first drive of the second half. But buried inside their own ten-yard line, the Cardinals couldnt get beyond the 11-yard line.
With Parsons out, the Cardinals had a bad snap in the endzone and the Eagles fell on the ball for their first touchdown of the second half. The Cardinals held the Eagles in check until 9:12 left in the fourth quarter. A fumble gave the Eagles the ball on their own 14-yard line and punched it in one play later.
You cant turn the ball over as many times as we did and expect to be in the game, head coach Russell Mahaffey said. I feel like if we stay healthy and iron out some of the mistakes, were going to be good.
Landrum plays at Polk Friday at 7:30 p.m.
