Gerald Fine
Born March 8, 1942, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Boyd William Fine and Margaret Waldrop Fine Post. He was a former construction superintendent with various companies and of the Baptist faith. He was a Sergeant 1st Class U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and the recipient of two Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Ruth Hammett Fine; three daughters, Teresa Whittington of Vancouver, Wash., Denise Sprouse Watts of Campobello, and Page Sprouse Pettit of Cowpens; a son, Vincent Fine of Chesnee; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Floyd&squo;s Boiling Springs Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larry Fleming. Burial was in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
