New basketball coaches named at Polk
After a topsy turvy season last year, the Polk County men’s basketball team has finally landed a new head coach. Craig Culbreth has been named the new head coach for the Wolverines. Culbreth has been the men’s golf coach for Polk.
Mitch Davis will be taking over for Chris Mintz, who took a job at Cherokee High School as the varsity women’s basketball coach. Davis, who was the head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach for four years, will reunite with many of the players he coached in the early part of their careers at Polk.
“I’m very excited to have this opportunity,” Davis said. “The majority of the players I’ve coached before. I’m looking forward to coaching them again.”
