He was the son of the late Robert and Effie Rickman Jackson. He retired from D.O.T. in Columbus and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise O. Jackson; two sons, Charles Lee Jackson and wife Gayle of Brevard, and Timothy Norris Jackson of the home;&bsp; two sisters, Daisy J. Rollins and Doris J. Kolley of Reidville, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Ross, Luke, Sonnie and JoeWade Jackson, Amanda Lyndsay and husband Scott, Josh Davis and wife Christy, Dora Davis and Rheannen Davis and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby J. Gilbert and Clara Jackson and two brothers, Clarence and Rafe Jackson.

The family will receive friends from noon – 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Petty Funeral Home.&bsp; Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Michael Dukes and Rev. Wade Huntley. Burial will be in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery.
