Inspired by a recent wrestling event for the American Red Cross at Polk County High School, he really stepped up the search for a venue.
He combed Polk County, but couldnt find the venue he needed. So instead, he did the next best thing. He founded a wrestling company that will wrestle in Wellford, South Carolina, with hopes that hell find a venue in North Carolina eventually.
Supercade Wrestling will begin this Thursday at the National Guard Armory in Wellford.
The event, which starts at 7:30 p.m., will host a large card with wrestlers from all over the southeast. Two local wrestlers will be at the event. Ken Dotson and Adam Jackson, both of Polk County, will be wrestling. The two wrestle at American Pro Wrestling in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Dotson is the American Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion under the stagename Ken Magnum.
Other wrestlers will include Johnny Danger, Bobby Diamond and Rex Rumble.
Its going to be exciting, Allison said. Were going to start the night off with a battle royal.
The battle royal will decide the rest of the card, including the main event ladder match that will decide the first Supercade Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.
Allison, however, will not be out front in the wrestling event. Hes not looking to jump in the ring and tangle with the wrestlers. Hes not trying to be the next Vince McMahon or anything like that. Instead, hes going to be the behind-the-scenes owner and promoter.
His main focus is that the event, which will take place every Thursday at the armory, takes off. As it does, hell find big name talent and will do different things with the action card. The fourth Thursday of each month will be sort of a payperview type event, Allison said.
And this promotion will be focused on good, clean fun, he said.
A lot of people are tired of the stuff on T.V., he said. Our show is family-oriented.
And Thursday when the opening bell rings, Allison will have accomplished a goal hes been thinking about for years now.
Im very excited, he said. (This has) been three years in the making.
