James Johnson Jr.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 23 in the Ormondsville Free Will Baptist Church. Burial followed in Ayden Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born in Landrum. He was the son of the late James Elmer Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Foster Johnson of Tryon. A 1958 graduate of East Carolina University, he was employed by the Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. until his retirement in 1995. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of the Ormondsville Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer and taught Sunday school.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Johnson Tezza. He is survived by two sons, James Elton Johnson III of Asheville and Scott Faulkner Johnson of Ormondsville; three brothers, Chris, Dean and Clark; three sisters, Valerie, Patricia and Gail; and countless nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
