Robert Beil

Born in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Theodore Kenneth and Lulu Rison Beil.&bsp; He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Beil was a professor emeritus of engineering mechanics at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He was a Presbyterian.
Surviving are his wife Mary Stuart Beil; one brother, James Ora Beil of Basking Ridge, N.J.; two sisters, Betty Clements of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Flora June Waite of Okeechobee, Fla. Mr. Beil was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Stuart Beil, who died in 2006.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Black Mountain, N.C., with Rev. Ralph Kuether officiating.
Burial will be in the Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, N.C.
A memorial service in Tryon Estates will be held at a later date.
