On Monday May 26, 2008, a vehicle stop made by the Polk County Sheriff&squo;s Office at a seatbelt checkpoint resulted in the arrest of a 23 year old male from Inman, South Carolina.

The individual was stopped at the checkpoint and an open container of alcohol was observed inside the vehicle.

A further search of the vehicle located six grams of methamphetamine, burglary tools, and nearly $1,000 of stolen property from Spartanburg County, S.C.

The unidentified individual was charged with a total of five felonies, including possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of burglary tools and four other misdemeanors.

Additional charges are pending as part of an ongoing investigation with the Polk County Sheriff&squo;s Office and Spartanburg County Sheriff&squo;s Office.
