He was the husband of Lisa C. Thomas and was the son of the late Wesley S. Thomas and Lois S. Thomas. He was born in Spartanburg County and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Zach Thomas of Spartanburg; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Thomas of Spartanburg; five sisters, Sherry Reid of Campobello, Frances Campsen of Spartanburg, Brenda Garrett of Pacolet, Carolyn Matthews of Spartanburg, Janice Brown of Tennessee; and three brothers, Wesley Smith Thomas Jr., Richard Thomas and Jimmy Thomas, all of Spartanburg. He is pre-deceased by one sister, Allene Lark and two brothers Dean Thomas and Jack Thomas.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Scott Linnerud and Rev. James Crocker officiating.

Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs was in charge of arrangements.
