A native of Columbus, he was a retired employee of D.H.E.C. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Lou Jean Easler Pruitt of the home; and three sisters, Mary Hinds of Taylors, Carolyn Atkins of Lyman and Ruby Edwards of Campobello.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 29 at Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery, conducted by Dr. Tim Clark.
