Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late David Newman Kimbrell and Dessie McAbee Kimbrell. He was retired from the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Kimbrell was an avid antique car enthusiast.
He is survived by three sons, Joe Kimbrell of Inman, S.C., Johnny Kimbrell of Inman, and Ronnie Kimbrell of Chesnee; a daughter, Amanda Kimbrell of Saluda, N.C.; two sisters, Joann Johnson and Eula Mae Barker, both of Inman; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 and were conducted by Dr. Michael S. Hamlet.
