The Lady Wolverines beat Owen 6-2 to improve to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in Western Highlands Conference play.

Haley McCool was the winning pitcher for Polk County. McCool pitched seven innings and allowed just two runs. She had two strikeouts.

Morgan McCool was 2-for-4 with a run. Kayla Byrd was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI.

Denise Edwards was 2-for-4 with a homerun and a run. Macy Gibbs was 2-for-4 with a run.

Polk County beat Thomas Jefferson 12-7 on Monday. Haley McCool had six strikeouts.

Nikki Williams was 4-for-5 with three runs. Denise Edwards was 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. Haley Champion was 3-for-5 with a run scored.

Polk hosts Hendersonville today at 4 p.m.
