The county will set up an additional voting location this year at the Green Creek Family Life Center that will be open to all Polk voters.

Polk County Elections Director Dale Edwards says the additional early voting spot was added to accommodate the growing number of people who have been voting early. The county has seen about 4,000 early &dquo;one-stop absentee&dquo; voters in recent elections at the elections office.

The early voting will begin on April 21 and continue Monday through Friday until May 2. It will also be held on Saturday, May 3.

Edwards says the Green Creek location also gives Polk voters an option for evening hours.

Early voting will take place at the Green Creek Family Life Center from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Early voting also will continue to be available at the Polk elections office in the Womack Building in&bsp; Columbus from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On Saturday, May 3, early voting will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at both locations.

Edwards says a third early voting location may be added in Polk County this fall to offer Polk voters even more choices for their convenience.
