Born in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Dewitt and Bessie Barnett Hines. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Hill (Brooks) of Columbus; one sister, Marion Ritchie of Columbus; two brothers, Hugh Hines of Montgomery, Ala., and Billy Hines of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Larry Hill (Tracey) and Donald Hill; two great-grandchildren, Ansley and Gaines Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.

Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

The family will be at the home of the daughter, Patricia Hill, 651 Peniel Road, Columbus.
