Shane Varnadore was raised in Polk County and became very attached to the forest from a young age. He runs a tree service that provides him with the materials for his true passion, creating beautiful works of art and furniture. He views himself as being driven to be responsible for trees as living organisms, and states his mission is to protect, harvest, maintain, and produce beautiful creations from what they give.

Member artists include Bonnie Bardos, whose work is rich in Jungian symbolism, evoking a connection with our deeper being, and Marie-Christine Maitre de Tarragon, whose sculptures reflect her passion for the equine. Also on display will be the work of member Michelle Soule’ which captures the explosive essence of botanical beauty, and that of member Michael Hayes, which takes us away to the endless reflection and living beauty of the ocean.

The Evans-Varnadore show will continue through Saturday, June 4 at the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Gallery at 78 N. Trade Street in downtown Tryon. Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, you can visit the Gift Gallery featuring the works of over 50 local and regional artists.
