“Joyrides to Far Corners” is a series of “edutainment” slide presentations for riders and non-riders. The second presentation in the four-part series is this month’s “Joyride to Iceland: Riding with Vikings” to be presented at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Columbus campus of Isothermal Community College, 1255 West Mills St.

A photographic record combines four adventures on this volcanic island perched atop the violent Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

Vince Verrecchio brings decades of advertising photography experience and Gloria Verrecchio brings her knowledge as an equine rehabilitation veterinarian, to add color and depth to stories that blend history, culture, terrain, trivia, travel and photo tips, riding characters, and the gaited Icelandic Horse.

The series is free and open to the public, offered as a public service to the community by the Polk Center of Isothermal Community College.
