It may look like the next big boy band in the making, but it’s actually Lord Farquaad helped by his back-up group of guards, lamenting the dynamics of a dysfunctional family, relishing his upcoming nuptials and planning the nasty demise of his Daddy.
Tryon Little Theater and Tryon Youth Center’s Summer Production of “Shrek the Musical” is a romp through the Kingdom of Duloc, with fairytale and nursery rhyme characters, ogres, donkeys and dragons.
Here, the boys are practicing their doo wop moves. From the front, clockwise: Jared Durham as Farquaad, with Raines Strader, Ben Schlappi, Ely Jenkins, Mark Laning and James Kennedy, his guards.
“Shrek the Musical” opens July 10 at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. Box office opens June 30 at the Workshop. Call 828-859-2466 or visit www.tltinfo.org for more information.
