The Saluda Fire and Rescue Auxiliary held a successful benefit dinner on March 15 for six-year-old Saluda resident, Ben Leslie. Much appreciation is extended to those who helped make the event so successful, including everyone who attended the event and all local individuals and businesses who donated time, items or money to the fundraiser. All of the proceeds went directly to Ben Leslie, a six-year-old Saluda resident with a rare form of cancer called synovial sarcoma.
The next fundraiser for the Leslie family will take place Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Saluda Fire & Rescue, located at 199 Walnut Street in Saluda. Tickets are available for sale and include a bowl of soup, a sandwich and a drink. There will be raffles, live music, a silent art auction and a cake auction as well.
The Saluda Fire & Rescue Auxiliary is also recruiting new members. Applicants must be 16 or older and a Saluda resident. The Saluda Fire and Rescue Auxiliary organizes fundraisers throughout the year to support the fire department and community. Meetings are the first Monday of every month at 6:15 p.m. at Saluda Fire & Rescue. For more information, contact Auxiliary President Jen Pace at 828-749-9152 or saludaauxiliary@yahoo.com.
