Casey Jillian creates Brother & Brat beauty line

Casey Jillian creates handmade perfumes and lip balms from the finest natural ingredients, blending scents and oils in her Tryon home.

Jillian’s perfumes appeal to people who appreciate good scents, and she has created completely unique products not available anywhere besides Tryon. Her wine-scented perfumes, in champagne, Bordeaux, and pinot grigio, sell alongside the wines at La Bouteille.

“I blend coconut oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter and beeswax with essential oils,” she said. “Everything’s natural and pure.”

The solid perfumes don’t spill, and they slide easily into a pocket or a purse, she said. The scents last and they’re easy to apply and reapply without scenting a whole room or drawing a lot of attention from spritzing. They’re one of many health and beauty products that she makes.

“I’ve always been interested in making soaps and bath bombs,” she said.“My lip balms are flavored peppermint, blueberry, coconut lemongrass, cucumber melon and passion fruit rose. They’re available at Terra on Trade.”

The lip balms and perfumes make wonderful stocking stuffers, she said, and once someone tries one flavor, they often want to try them all and then settle on the flavor they like the most.

“I like to use the cucumber melon lip balm,” she said. “That one is my favorite.”

She calls her company Brother & Brat Beauty, because her brother has been a big influence in supporting her as an artist.

Jillian designs jewelry in addition to creating health and beauty products. Her company email address is brotherandbrat@gmail.com for special orders.

“When I was in summer camp in fourth grade, I made a ring for my brother,” she said. “He found it when he was cleaning out his closet and reminded me. He has been my inspiration and has given me good advice.”
