TubaChristmas transfer of leadership

Published 9:28am Tuesday, January 8, 2013

As part of the 15th annual TubaChristmas concert special thanks was given to Dr. and Mrs. Stan Howell of Columbus for their years of leadership.

Manfred Walter of Mill Spring presented them with a certificate of appreciation and Ray Gasperson made a presentation on behalf of the Polk County Board of Commissioners.

At a recent luncheon at Tryon Estates there was a less formal, but more practical, transfer of responsibilities to those who will be making plans for the future of TubaChristmas.

Walter is the new coordinator, Bob Chestnut is the treasurer and Betsy Zeek will coordinate publicity. These are only a few of the volunteers who will work to make this annual free public performance a success.

Mark your calendars now for Saturday, Dec. 7, 1:30 p.m. at the Polk County High School and get your Christmas season off to a musical start.
