On Feb. 23, FENCE will have presentation on invasive plants of the Carolinas followed by an optional workday. Join us in the great room at FENCE for a wonderful presentation at 9 a.m. John Vining will be our guest for the presentation. He brings along much knowledge about these plants, their impact on the environment, and ways to remove them.

Following the presentation we will have an optional workday from 10 a.m. to noon. We will work on the paved trail removing invasive species such as privet, tree of heaven, and bittersweet. Snacks will be provided for volunteers. We will have gloves and some tools available but if you have your own tools feel free to bring them along. Don’t forget to dress for the weather and bring along some water for the workday.

FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon, N.C. For more information about this and upcoming events visit fence.org or contact us by email at education@fence.org or phone at 828-859-9021.
