Lanier Library hosts travel talk, Sunday Salon events
Springtime finds Lanier Library with its March calendar of events in full bloom.
The Thirsty for Learning Thursday series continues March 10 with a travel talk by Jim and Kathy Wright. The couple will share stories and photographs from their motorcycle trip through Africa. The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the library, and is free and open to the public. Thirsty for Learning Thursdays are held on the second Thursdays of each month.
On March 13, the library will hold a Sunday Salon with David Hoffman, author of Citizens Rising: Independent Journalism and the Spread of Democracy, and co-founder of Internews, a global non-profit organization that fosters independent media and access to information worldwide. This event begins at 4 p.m., and is free and open to the public.
For more information about these and other upcoming events, including April’s Poetry Festival, visit www.lanierlib.org or drop by the library.
While membership is not required for attending most of Lanier Library’s programs, becoming a member helps ensure that the nonprofit library is able to continue bringing enlightening, engaging and entertaining speakers to the community.
