Honoring Tank

In true Tryon fashion, the town hung a banner for fire chief James “Tank” Waters following his unexpected death last week. Tryon has hung banners in the past for other greats after their deaths to honor them, including for Jim Jackson, James Payne and fire chief Geoffrey Tennant. The banners are hung at the clock tower in the middle of downtown. (Photo by the Tryon Coffeehouse Co-op)
