During the COVID-19 crisis, Senior Life Solutions, St. Luke’s Hospital’s outpatient geriatric psychiatry program, offers group, individual and family therapy services remotely via a secure Zoom platform. Senior Life Solutions can also accept referrals, intakes, admit new patients, perform assessments and receive physician evaluations remotely.

“Senior Life Solutions is providing the same exact services it usually provides, but remotely, to help keep the high-risk population we serve physically safe and healthy while still supporting their mental health,” said Director Paula Hipp. “Honestly, this is such a blessing, because now is a crucial time psychologically for everyone.”

An intensive outpatient counseling program which addresses the emotional and behavioral health of adults over the age of 65, Senior Life Solutions will offer these teleservices throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Their staff and therapists will still be available and accessible via remote online access or by phone.

Through a combination of therapies, education and wellness programs, Senior Life Solutions assists older adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, have recently experienced a traumatic event and a host of many other symptoms.

With this program, patients can discover how to handle life’s challenges and find joy once again. The program works to improve the emotional stability and increase general functioning, as well as help patients identify, develop and use effective coping skills by emphasizing the existing strengths of the individual and/or family system.
