SCLT holds annual meeting

Crows, whippoorwills and bark baskets, oh my! These three seemingly unrelated subjects were all part of the presentation by naturalist and storyteller Doug Elliott as he entertained (with audience participation) guests and officers at the April 13 annual meeting of the Saluda Community Land Trust (SCLT). The program, held at the Saluda Senior Center, included facts abut the two bird species, audience inclusion in a song about whippoorwill’s songs, and Elliott’s simple and effective means of producing hand-made baskets from the bark of tulip trees. Elliot punctuated his presentation by singing and playing the harmonica.
