TACS Wine and Crafts Evening Series continues with “Clay Carpentry”

TACSWineAndCrafts5486WEB

The next evening workshop in Tryon Arts and Crafts School’s Wine and Crafts series will be on April 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the school at 373 Harmon Field Road. The series was developed to provide a fun craft experience on the first Friday night of each month.

The class will be lead by TACS’ master pottery instructor Jim Cullen, who will be leading the project to make a vase with air-dry clay, so you will be able to take your finished piece home, let it dry and then paint it to match your décor, with no firing necessary.

The vases are simple to make, easy to add you own design and they look great in the home. Plus, extra bonus: You can also make an owl pin or pendant as well! Mix this experience with some wine and music and the opportunity to make some new friends, and you’ll have a great way to end your week!

Future wine and crafts evenings planned so far are making: a fun collage challenge piece on May 13th with Christine Mariotti, Japanese calligraphy with Ayako Abe-Miller on June 3 (with sake), and a patriotic themed fused glass garden stake with Camille Corn on July 1.

There is a cost for the mini-workshops, and all supplies and refreshments are included.  Register at http://tryonartsandcrafts.org/product/clay-carpentry-wine-craft-workshop-jim-cullen-april-1-6-8pm/ or call 828-859-8323.
