Local churches announce back-to-school celebrations

POLK COUNTY—As parents and students look forward to the 2025-26 school year, a pair of Polk County churches are gearing up to host celebrations to welcome students back to the classroom.

On Sunday, August 3, at 4:00 p.m., Beaulah Baptist Church will host its Back-to-School Bash. Attendees can enjoy food and ice cream while students play on the on-site water slide and learn about a firetruck that will be visiting the church during the special celebration. Beaulah Baptist Church is located at 140 Beaulah Church Ln in Mill Spring.

On Monday, August 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church and Share Thy Bread Thrift Store will host their Kids’ Back to School Food and Fun Day. The hosts will be distributing disaster relief supplies, school supplies, and backpacks.

The event will provide plenty of fun and entertainment, including bouncy houses, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, and a variety of food options for all attendees to enjoy.

Tryon Seventh Day Adventist Church and Share Thy Bread is located at 2820 Lynn Rd. in Tryon.
